Chez Liline is an amazing restaurant which speciali ses in preparing Mauritian fusion meals. It is common for the restaurant to be fully booked across the week and for this reason the owner wanted to expand the restaurant into the neighbouring property. Luckily both Chez Liline and the neighbouring fish monger belonged to the restaurant owner which would allow this to all become possible.
The Approach
As the owner wanted to keep both units and provide both with a shop front we cut straight into the back of the fish mongers. In doing this we have added more than 20 additional seats internally and another 10 if you include the new outside seating area. The merger between the two buildings is fluid and we have taken the idea of the fusion cooking to inspire the new interior design. We worked closely with the owner to ensure that neither business would be affected from the changes and that both would still be able to function as normal keeping their customers happy.
